Usage based billing should not be restrictive to time online. Give your company the ability to track and bill for time, bandwidth, disk space, off-peak usage or value added services such as VoIP or FoIP.

Time Usage Based Billing
You can limit customers to a certain number of hours online per month. If the user goes over their allowed number of hours you have the option to bill them for excessive usage or simply turn off their service after a certain number of hours (for example if you use a national dialup provider that limits customers to 150 hours per month) and then turn their service back on automatically at the beginning of the following month.

If you offer (or would like to offer) your customers alternate usage based plans, you can do that as well. Say for example you charge a different rate for peak/off-peak usage or maybe you have a special 800 dialup that you charge a certain amount per hour. Optigold allows you to do this with secondary usage charges.

Block Usage
In some areas of the world, block usage billing is very popular. Optigold ISP gives you the ability to sell services based on the number of hours allowed, rather than a normal recurring price.

As an example, you may offer your customers 100 hours of service that can be used as they need. When that customer has used up their allowed block, Optigold can either turn off their service or renew them for another block. You can also limit the timeframe they are allowed to use it. Maybe you allow 100 hours that must be used within the next 12 months or something.

Disk Space
Optigold ISP gives you the ability to bill a customer for excessive disk space used. The charge can be automatically appended to their next recurring invoice.

Secondary Services
Optigold can bill for usage for any service you can dream up. Things like call detail records for VoIP and FoIP are a perfect fit.

You can push pending charges (call detail records) into Optigold manually, via a file import, ODBC or HTTP.
